Parents: (Father) Richard Gilmore (Mother) Emily Gilmore Daughter: Lorelai Leigh Gilmore (Rory) Sisters/Brothers: None Marital Status: Single. Divorced from Christopher Hayden (Rory's father) Personality: Lorelai is innately humorous and has a witty remark for every situation, often with a pop culture reference. She is also a highly talkative, free-spirited woman, a child of the eighties and part of the MTV generation. Lorelai's eating habits are unhealthy; she is a self-proclaimed caffeine addict, she subsists almost exclusively on Pop Tarts and takeout. She possesses no cooking skills whatsoever so when not eating leftover takeout or junk food, she frequents Luke's diner. She possesses a uniquely volatile relationship with her mother, Emily Gilmore. Lorelai is of the opinion that "...she and I couldn't be more different," but in actuality, Lorelai is "guilty" of having many of the same negative character traits. For example, meddling in other peoples' affairs, being extremely stubborn and unwilling to accept alternate viewpoints, subtle emotional manipulation of others to obtain her own ends, rush to judgment about individuals that she doesn't actually know. |
